天將降大任於斯人也,
必先苦其心志,
勞其筋骨,
餓其體膚,
空乏其身,
行拂亂其所爲,
所以動心忍性,
曾益其所不能。

When Heaven is about to entrust someone with a great mission,
it first tests their mind and will with hardship,
wearies their muscles and bones,
exposes them to hunger,
plunges them into poverty,
and throws obstacles in their path.
This is to shake their hearts, build their endurance,
and ultimately strengthen them to accomplish what they could not before.
